Access to Lake Stevens

What's the best? I see 2 launches. City and Wyatt. Any tips or precautions? Never fished this lake before. I did meet up with the original owner of my boat for a test run years ago.

Both launches look to be a hassle with a single person.

I frequently use the City Launch solo. There are two concrete strip launching lanes that angle away from the float. When launching you need to line up with one or the other or you could hang your trailer up on the gap between the two. The Wyatt launch is very nice you just need to park your rig across the street. The City launch is subject to closure pending multi-use events.

That's my observation viewing on the Ariel maps. Is the city free with your wdfw pass?
How do you launch from the city? Do you have to beach it since it doesn't run parallel to the ramps?

Both are fine to launch solo, both have very nice docks. The city launch may be a bit more friendly for fishing folks, the other is used heavily by the lake lice crowd and they want $10 for day use, The "City " ramp is a WDFW site and free with pass. Both can be very tough on parking at times.

I fish solo 50% of the time. I have a bit of a routine that works for both of our boats. My bow line is about 10' longer than the boat. Before launching I tie a bowline knot securing the end of the line to the trailer (other end is already attached to the boat...), back down the ramp just until the boat floats then gently pull the rig forward a few feet. At that point I untie the line from the trailer and walk the boat to the dock or beach.

Yep, that's what I normally do. Wasn't sure if the ramp faced away from the dock at the city or not, which will allow you to walk the boat down the dock.

With Sammamish, I do the same, and then once I get out of the truck with the boat floating out the back. I just toss the line on the walkway and walk the boat all the way down the end of the dock.

Thanks. I will probably be hitting a lot of new lakes this season due to the local closures.
