Anyone own a Tracker boat?

Post by Juniah87 » Sun Apr 16, 2017 5:33 pm

So I just got back from Bass Pro Shops. I went to pick up some lures for bass fishing, but co uldn't resist walking over tot he boat section while I was there. They have a Tracker for sale there you can pick up for a monthly payment of less then $160. I was drooling so hard I could have sworn I saw someone in a jonboat trolling my saliva trail. Just curious if anyone has owned one of these, currently or in the past. They look like decent boats, but I didn't spend a lot of time looking it over because I was afraid I would talk myself into getting a loan I couldn't afford [laugh] Is there a cheaper alternative? I mean I don't really need a boat with a 115 outboard, and I'm sure that's the most expensive part. I'm kind of wary of purchasing a used boat off of craigslist, especialy since they are cash-in-hand deals, the only way I'd be able to afford a decent boat in the future is through financing.

A friend has a new Tracker. I forget what horse power. He likes the boat a lot. He had them remove the depth finders as they were being a major problem, I forget what the problem was, and had Limit Out install some good depth finders, and a good/proper set up.

I had a Tracker back in '88 and it was a great boat, but I decided I wanted a bigger boat, a deeper keel instead of the flat bottom, and a faster boat.

Go to Limit Out and see what they can do on one of their aluminum boat brands.

I sent an e-mail to the guy with the Tracker, he might come and post his thoughts on his boat.

I have a 2001 Tracker 16' deep V (why my name) riveted that came as a combo with a 40 Merc. It is 86" wide. I really like it. I was down at Bass Pro Shops and saw the 20'. The wife said 'Get it!' but I resisted. Mine works fine for now...
