How come the private message notification only works sometimes when I enter the WA lakes site?

Whenever I have a PM I get an e-mail notice and then when I enter the site all is as usual until I enter the forums. Then I get a pop-up window telling me someone has sent me a message.

Works well for me. I know this does not answer your question, but I am just saying it is good for me the way it works.

I noticed it today - had a PM sent to me yesterday - when I got on this morning, the little notification in the Forums section didn't show it and when I went to my inbox - it looked as if the PM had already been opened.

Though it has only happened to me this one time, and I have gotten another PM since and it worked fine.

It sometimes does this to me when I switch off using different internet browsers. So if I use Safari for a while then I go to Firefox, I won't get the box alerting me that I have a PM...

I have had the same problem with PM's. Only just recently though. So I just start my login by checking them.

Weird. After recieving multiple PM's tonight and getting no box that updated me of it, the last PM i got gave me the box...???
