Neither. Don't worry about the details. Pick up a copy of the magazine and then PM me if you can go. We will hit up Beaver Lake (Long Lake) and the other Lake later on in late March, but right now I'm going to focus on Lake Washington and Lake Sammamish. We can do well here until early May. Reiterating, PM me if you need further details. I'm logging off for the night to read my magazine, and will get up early tomorrow to fish. I will post a report if things turn out well. If they don't I still mightfishingmachine wrote:so do u have downriggers on the boat and what do we use herring or worms

Just bring yourself fishingmachine and we'll meet at Gene Coulon Park in Renton, WA and fish the Cedar River area for cutthroat trout. There will be some other buddies of mine out their and it'll be fun. Look forward to your company. I have your rod and reel and everything you need to get started. Just bring your floatation device, cellular phone, and fishing license. Talk to you later.fishingmachine wrote:shot u a pm

After reading the Hunting and Fishing Magazine for Washington I can't resist the urge to keep fishing this body of water -- can you say addiction?? Well, a good one at that! lolSam Kafelafish wrote:Plans bouncing around a little eh?

Some guy caught a 15+ lber a few years ago. There's a report on it on this site. Definitely worth fishing for. Quality trout.fishingmachine wrote:yeah it will be my first ever sea run if we catch one which we probably will

Yes, same lake. Although when I trolled it, it was in September. But my buddy who showed it to me said that he hit it in February of '08 and it was still good. I fly-fished it with a #2 olive wooly bugger and had good luck on bigger fish. My buddy used a chartreuse wedding ring with a worm on the end and he did good but with smaller fish.kutthroatkilla wrote:Hey Rabbits! Are you talking about Long Lake or the other lake connected to Beaver at the far end by that big rock? I'm talking about Long Lake labeled "Long Lake" thru Google Maps, which I think you are referring to as well...just want to make sure we're on the same page/have the same lake in mind. You see it on Google Maps? "Long Lake"? You have trolled it for trout and it was good? I'm banking on it being good.Rabbits wrote:I have fished it and it was awesome. There were many locals that saw me and didn't care that I was fishing it. The bass fishing is phenomenal. And there seems to be less perch in this portion of the waters. Trolling was great on trout.
So I don't think it is private.
I also fished the shoreline where there are some low hanging trees. I used a blue/silver baitcaster and did well on smallmouth.
Interestingly there was also a large bees nest at the far end of the lake on a low hanging tree. Thanks to my dad I had some bee patterns in my fly arsenal and was very successful on all fish. This was quite rare as I have never heard of anyone else who this has happened to. Once in a lifetime type of thing I guess.
When trolling, I was using a sinking line which brought me down to about 15 feet. I had pretty consistent hits at that depth, but really started hitting them when I put a pinch weight on the end of my line. I don't know what the depth was but it really worked. I am assuming that brought me down another 5-8 feet.
good luck guys.
Rum is good.
