RE:Need help choosing a boat
yeah it will beat a fishhunter hands down and easier to use
RE:Need help choosing a boat
Jon boat. Much more stable and it is longer, and is probably lighter. Livingstons are good boats, but the layout of them isn't exactly one that I like. Not very well suited for standing up.
Either way you go, it's a good deal. A Minn Kota and fishfinder and your setup for all the small lakes up there on the plateau.
Hope something works out for ya fishingmachine...

Boats like that show up on CL on a daily basis...just be patient and you'll find that boat of lifetime! Also, boattrader.com is a great site, too!

Continue to look as often as possible. Those boats sell FAST (as you just saw) and it's really important to have your mind made up and be quick to reply to the seller.

RE:Need help choosing a boat
Yes, but the 8ft boat will be pinched for space with two guys in it...fishingmachine wrote:well i found another jon boat in issaquah as well as a livingston in renton that i am going to look at tomorrow and decide if i want it what do u guys think am i able to fit two people on an 8ft livingston

RE:Need help choosing a boat
well it is a livingston and would it be as pinched as my nine foot fish hunter raft that has a battery in it
RE:Need help choosing a boat
But your fish hunter raft has those really wide beams and air chambers and stuff which makes that inside area much smaller. you don't get the full 9 feet of it, whereas a livingston you would

You could fit 2 in the livingston but like Sam I don't like the layout of them.
Be patient, don't buy one just to have a boat, make sure it is what you want.
If you are not feeling good about the boat it can make for a rough day on the water.
Remember, you could be in this boat for hours at a time. Make sure it is what you need.

RE:Need help choosing a boat
It's spring. Lots of boats will go on sale. I feel ya fishingmachine. I'm dying to buy a float tube, and have almost just drove to Joes and dropped $300 over the last few nights to get a setup. But I'm waiting for sales and to make sure that it it will be a good purchase.
Livingstons are sturdy, but just do not have a great layout for standing up. I imagine you would like to stand up, and a jon boat is better suited for that...
Livingstons just have an akward setup. But hey, if it's what you want, then don't let us stop you.
There are gonna be a lot of good deals coming up soon. Sounds like your regularly checking CL, which is great, but don't buy one just to get out on the water this weekend. Make sure it's something you want for the next few years...

RE:Need help choosing a boat
so is the standing up part the only part u dont like about the layout
RE:Need help choosing a boat
Yes. But other then that, the layout is pretty good cause the catamaran hull is very stable and the seats are in the middle so the boat is pretty stable...
