Just Got Organized...NOT!
I've never been an organized person. In fact, I resist organization at every opportunity! I always know where everything is until I or the wife straighten things up! But things changed today. After months of harping on and on about that cluttered mess I call my fly desk, my wife came home with a 39-drawer storage cabinet/organizer....you know, one of those silly things you use for loose nails, screws, tacks, etc. Off I went to my basement hideaway, dreading the job ahead of me. Three hours later I came away quite pleased! Years of old fly boxes, 15 in all, are now empty, except for those presently on the pontoon. Ditto for a dozen or so of those neat, round clear plastic containers you get whenever you purchase flies at a fly shop while out of town on new water. I discovered that I have enough streamers, chironomids, nymphs, terrestrials and dries for the next 10-12 years. My leaders, tippet and strike indicators are all now neatly stowed. Anyways....why am I telling you guys all this? So you can help me locate everything later down the road when I complain about not being able to find anything! It'll be a couple years until I get used to this.

If your tying table is like mine, which is in my office, it becomes a convenient place to set something for "the time being". Ya, Right!! When I want to tie up some flies, I have to spend 15 minutes trying to find a place for the stuff I was going to put in the right spot a couple of months ago.
As I get older, it seems to get worse.
