SE 40th boat launch photos

Post by Firetiger » Wed Jan 07, 2009 6:30 pm

New waterproof camera! Tested the camera snapping a couple photos of the SE 40th boat launch. New dock looks good and the camera survived the rain.

I had checked on the progress a few days ago and it appeared that they were done. However the barricades were still in place and the ramp/walkway onto the dock is still the same old slippery when wet/icy material as before. A few weeks ago they had removed the top of the ramp/walkway and the cross members. I'm guessing that only the support boards/cross members under the plywood were replaced. I was hoping that the entire structure would be replaced using the same grating that was used to refurbish the Seattle launches, not fun to walk on barefoot but positive traction no mater what the conditions. Now the last thing that would make this a really good refurbishment would be regularly scheduled removal/cleaning of all of the goose droppings that will accumulate on the dock throughout the year. At $9 to $10 a launch you'd think they could spring for a pressure wash now and then!
