Yakima and Vicinity

Going to Yakima tomorrow.I want to spend a couple hours fishing some lake that offers a full bounty of species.Any reccomendations?

I looked up Brownstone in the lake directory and there was nada on it.Can you tell me where appox it is?

(Brownstown) sorry = about 25 minutes outside Yakascratch a human dust and wasteland of sage brush through Union Gap .

Now before Yakima there are stacks of small lakes and ponds right off I -90 in view loaded with guppies and a few good ones

The mighty Yakima River runs right by these as well.

I love fishing the Yakima but I fly fish very lil and I want to eat my catch.In the Yakima its release all above Rosa Dam.

Are you talking about the I-82 ponds Swedefish? The ponds are right next to the freeway and some of them drain into the Yakima. I believe that the ponds are managed for warmwater species. Some ponds also are stocked with trout. Ponds 1-6 were planted in February and March. There is also an old report that the DFW did on the ponds listed in the Warmwater Enhancement Progam section of the DFW. If your talking about different ponds, then my bad.

Yes AND MANY REMOTE FARMSLANDS AND MANY MORE ALL THE WAY TO EPHRATA SEEP DRAINAGES ARE GREAT STUFF:-$

I went for a wonderfull and relaxing drive by myself seeking the nice fishing space.Unfortunately it was on free fishing Sat.The ponds along I82 and I-90 were packed with folks.So I ventured down I-97. I found some nice ponds with good access.The ponds I found were in the Toppenish and Buena areas.Im gonna go back ths comming weekend and try them out.I ran into some locals at Wally World in Yakima that told me the further east you go the better the panfishing gets.

I also took my heavier gear to fish the Yakima River in looking for some Springer action.The river was very silted looking and quite fast.I through a salmon spoon but no hits .I did fight a branch for a few minutes thinking I had a good strike.Good for a adrenaline rush.

I have a few questions please.Do salmon travel up as high as the Sportsman Nat, Park?I wasnt to impressed with the park.I did my fishing in the Toppenish area.My other question is can you fish a toon or a small rowboat in the Ponds along I-97? I did not see any at all.Just shore fisherpeople?

Lastly Cherries are so good right now but today my tummy is ooooooooooooooooooooo.

The Toppenish area is one of my killing areas outside to cock birds Quail , ducks and qeese and one of my Best Ko's of all times:cheers:
