I'm also game. Anybody know about the area around Swawilla Basin off of hwy 155 East of Nespelem and South of Keller. I'm looking for the nearest boat ramp with good fishabillity from Nespelem. Any constructive suggestions?:viking:
RE:Roosevelt
If your going to Swawilla...launch at Spring Canyon and hang a right.

RE:Roosevelt
Best advice I can offer is to read my reports on fishing Roosevelt this time of year. I have posted several since Sept and hope to be posting another in a few weeks as we'll be heading up there for Valentine's weekend.
Personally, I think downriggers are totally unnecessary this time of year, the trout are in the top 15' or so and can be easily enticed with leaded line and/or long line mono setups. I provide very specific info in my reports, so all the pertinent data is there.
We launch at Seven Bays, and usually fish in or near what is locally known as Split Rock aka Castle Rock. Other areas I know that have been producing well include Whitestone, Lincoln, and mouth of Hawk Creek. I have read of others picking up trout in and around Fort Spokane and near the mouth of the Spokane Arm. With the success we have had the past couple months, I've felt anywhere on the reservoir would have been good.
Good fishing!

Maybe I'm not understanding you...You cannot launch at Nespelem to reach Swawilla Basin. Cross the Coulee Dam bridge, up the hill, and before Grand Coulee there is Cresent Bay launch...but with the draw down, this might not be available this time of year. But if you continue into Grand Coulee and take a left towards Spokane, you will see Spring Canyon on your left. SC is always your best bet for launching this time of year for medium to large boats. Head out towards the middle and take a right...Swawilla will be up to the left about 3 miles.mav186 wrote:If your going to Swawilla...launch at Spring Canyon and hang a right.

RE:Roosevelt
Thanks Mav, I was wanting to find the closest launch coming from Nespelem. I was asking if there was a launch on the North side of the river close, or if I needed to cross the bridge. Spring Canyon sounds like the ticket. Thanks
