Last year while fishing Potholes we were flippin back in the dunes and started hearing coyotes howling, kept fishing then noticed a huge Mule deer came running out into the water and stood there, it was still in velvet and had a spead of close to 4ft, of course it was conveniently out of range for my camera
(Best pic's I could get of it...)

Poor little Blue gill, something took a nasty bite out of it. The boot suggests that something ate a person leaving a chunk out of the boot. [woot] VERY interesting tree growth.

last summer on lake coeur d'alene (ID) i was pitching a lure to the dock across from my slip when i caught a perch. the typical fight ensued, but then he dove and the line went heavy. i thought maybe he'd twirled himself up in the weeds or something, it was just dead weight. i get him about 3 feet off the swim platform and i realize a 30+ inch pike has swallowed my perch whole and i'm dragging them both in. when the pike got hear the surface he gave a head-shake and that poor perch's lip finally let go. well that pike stayed put right there - about 6" below the surface and 3' off my boat and choked down that perch right in front of me. he just sat there gulping and gagging right there in front of me.

Don't be hanging your feet over the side of the dock and sticking your toes in THAT lake. Image Image Image

You darned Fisherpeople always stretching the size of everything.I never lie or stretch the truth of my adventures. LOL.. Ok I'm lieing....
Once fishing the Snoqualmie right below the falls off David Powell Road I came across a large pile of bones. They almost looked like human Femurs but I couldnt tell. It was during the "Green River Murder Days" I called the the KC Sherrifs dept and about an hour later I showed mass police from Northbend,Snoqualmie and KCsherriffs dept the bones.About 2 weeks later I got a call saying they were Horse bones. And they thanked me for being a concerned citizen. I thought that was cool. I would say that this was in 1973-1975.

Last fall I and a friend found a black bear swimming across Roosevelt Res. This spring I and that same friend saw a coyote swimming across a lake.

I have "supprised" more then one Nature Lover(s) doing the wild thing. I would assume that by now people would know that if they are there, other people may be as well. :cyclopsan

Too much water, so many fish, too little time.

That reminds me of an incident that happened to a friend and his wife. They were sailing in the 'south seas' someplace. Anchored out and took a small boat to a small island. Uninhabited of course.

He was walking around the island one direction and she was walking around the other way.

Yes they were nekked.

He came across another couple that was walking on the beach, those people had anchored on the opposite side of the island.

A bit embarassed to say the least. And they were both good looking people. :-"

Plucked a whole pumpkin out of the Duwamish a couple years ago, used it for Halloween! Oh, and this picture I see. LOL I plumb forgot! I've seen deer swimming between islands in the San Juans, and been given a haircut by the fighters while hiking on the coast and in Glacier Peak Wilderness. Pulled a pike thru the ice that had latched onto the perch that I was retrieving while fishing in WI. Gonna have to check out Panther Lake, that sounded promising!:safe:

For some, that is the whole idea/thrill of it.
I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker

No pictures but I have a couple reports to share. At Cain Lake last year, right after launching the boat, I saw a full size cougar. It saw it run across the backyards of 3 homes moving toward the boat launch area.

The year before at Lake Sixteen, I was visited multiple times by a helicopter. It was filling the water bucket fighting a fire on the next ridge over.

Not me, but my Dad and his brothers were fishing the Umatilla River in OR as kids and they saw a corpse floating down the river, and my Dad's brother reached out to grab him by the jacket and his weight pulled him off the breakwaters they were fishing on and right on top of dead, bloated, Indian. Needless to say he never wanted to go near that river for a very long time.
