Hauser in Idaho has some huge Channel Cats in it. I have not fished for them in 5 or 6 years, maybe 7, but I use to get some 10+ in there.
Sprague had them before the kill, and they have been put back, but I don't know how many and I have not heard of anyone catching or even fishing for them. With the 8+ pounders that were in there, it could be a real sleeper.
After that, you are going to be required to go to the Snake River or ............. Again, how close is close? You might want to call the regional fisheries manager and ask.
Too much water, so many fish, too little time.

There are Bullheads that are not catfish and there are Bullhead Catfish. There are Channell Cats too. Walla Walla River is supposed to be good on catfish.Moses Lake is good.Almost all the ponds and lakes ova yonder in the east produce cats.
When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.

Central Ferry area of the Snake, Lyons Ferry on the Snake, Moses/Potholes Lakes. I fished Lyon's Ferry this past weekend from shore but didn't get any catfish, saw some guy catch 1 an hour into fishing from the shore by the train tressel area. They're all back spawning in the flats in the mouth of the Palouse River right now, saw 2 guys come in Friday night and they had 8 cats, 5 nice sized ones. Probably heading there again with my dad with the boat in 2 weekends.
