Re: Replacing Eyelet help
FishingThePacNW lives way over on the Olympic Pen. He's too young to drive so he can't get to L Stevens. But there should be a shop close to him.

Take it to a shop and they can wind on a new one. The tip one is sorta easy to do, the others are too much of a pain and I let someone else do those.FishingThePacNW wrote:its the first eyelet from the reel

thanks for the tips
Re: Replacing Eyelet help
Greg's is probably your best bet as 3 Rivers Marine will most likely require that you dip into your college fund to repair the rod. Putting on a guide is quite simple, really. The only real trick is matching the guide and the thread used to tie it down to the rest of the rod. The guide, along with a spool of thread should run you around $5 and the varnish to seal the wrap should run about the same price. There are a ton of instructional videos and articles that you can get off the internet showing you exactly how to wrap a guide back on your rod. As you need to do just one guide, it can be done without any tools or kits, and is really easy if you have a second person holding the thread for you. If you can't find what you need to get the job done locally or folks are asking an insane amount of money to do the job, you can get the stuff you need online from Jane's Netcraft.
Re: Replacing Eyelet help
There is a guy on highway 101 in Discovery Bay who fixes rods and sells new & used fishing gear. I have no idea about the quality of his work or what he charges, but I suspect the 1st is high and the 2nd is negotiable. If you're close by, it's probably worth at least asking him to have a look at it. Let me know if you're interested and I'll get you the specifics.
