Rattle Trap

On cavdad's recomendation I bought a Rattle Trap last year to use for bass out at Lacamas Lake and it has pretty much just sat in my tackle box since. I used it a few times here and there, but with little expectation.
I went down to the Mighty Columbia Monday night at the bottom of 164th Street here in Vancouver and was going to fish with worms and catch a sucker or sturgeon or whatever I could. Zbo and others are killing them there and other places along the River so I figure why not try. Well I get down there and the two-dozen pack of worms from Wal-Mart are all dead. Well, crap now I got to do something else. I tossed that Rattle Trap for about fifteen minutes with no result until...I was reeling in with an erratic pace, slow, fast and stop, just like cavdad said and I was about two feet from shore and something hit it! In my motion to set the hook I landed and took the fish off the hook in one sweep and there lying on the ground was one of the ugliest fish I have ever seen. I think it is a bullhead which is part of the sculpin family.

I snapped a pic or two and tossed him back. It was not much of a catch, but it did show me two things;
1. the Rattle Trap will attract fish and now I will toss it more often and with more confidence.
2. I was working the lure correctly, because it attracted a fish.

Rattle traps are a good tool and I love using them in stained water on windy days. I have caught bass, catfish, trout, kokes, panfish, and drum with a rattletrap! Silver and blue is my favorite!

Yes the R-Trap is a good bait to use for every fish fresh and salt waters.
