In short, it's aaaaaamazing!
This afternoon I and my friend wen to the Vedder Crossing Bridge, Chilliwack, BC. During the 20 minutes we stood there, I swear, around 9 salmon were landed! It was around 2PM, the water was low and rapid, the sun was high and almost hot. I can't tell what kind of salmon they were from afar, but I heard people call out "Coho", but from the size, I think those are kings. On the trail along the river bank, we saw another two salmon taken by people passed by us. These two are kings. Then we went to another section of the river, about 3 miles downstream, this time we took a few pictures. Check out the attached picture, in the background there are two people standing in the water. They also landed one a few minutes before this picture was taken.
So, if you're headed north recently, make sure pay a visit to Vedder River. It's about 70Km east of Vancouver, around one hour's drive, exit 119 of Hwy 1 the go south a little. See the map here http://www.bcfishingreports.com/vedder-river.htm, or use Google Maps to find it.
(To top that, the most amazing thing was I heard governor's campaign commercials on a Vancouver local radio station! I didn't know we have that many voters there!)

I went there a few years ago for the springers, but all I caught was a little wild coho. Lots of fish running, unfortunately there were a lot of anglers too.

P.T. That's what happens when a government takes the license money it makes and puts it back into the fisheries. They actually have hatcheries and put large numbers of fish back into the systems.
Build a man a fire and he's warm for the night. Light a man on fire and he's warm the rest of his life!

Yes, there is a hatchery in Chilliwack, we didn't have the time to go there. But I heard they put all 5 kinds of Pacific salmon in the water. Must be nice!
No, there weren't a lot of people fishing. There were around 15-20 people fishing under the Vedder Crossing bridge in a stretch of about 300 yards of the river bed. Except one hot fishing hole (where at least 5 were caught from there), it was not crowded at all.
If you're going there, remember, BC does not allow barded hooks, nor triple hooks. And there is a bait ban on many rivers.

Big fish come out the Vedder River.I've seen some real nice kings come from B.C.The river stay clean in B.C cuz all the sewage gets dumped into the Straits through the rivers.
When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.

I camped next to the Vedder once but I didn't fish it. I hear that it has some great steelheading also.
