Drift boat anchoring issues

Post by edge540 » Sun Nov 20, 2011 10:20 pm

I am having issues with my doat swaying violently side to side on anchor. I just fished the hump and watched all the other boats sitting there dead still on anchor while mine hunts back and forth like a flat fish #-o ](*,)

Here are the specs:

96 Alumaweld 16' Pro Guide model.

Side anchor (is this the problem)

#30 pyramid anchor

I use oar rites on my oars, it doesnt seem to help weather there in the water or out

yes, I would agree. I don't own a drift boat but it seems to make sense. I have a two person pontoon boat and when anhored it's very senstitive to weight adjustments. Having the anchor off center would likely cause the same problem.

There are some achievements which are never done in the presence of those who hear of them. Catching salmon is one, and working all night is another.
