Spent a lot of time exploring the river and making friends with the farmers last year, but the kings hadnt made it up far enough. We were seeing one fish here and there. Not too many secrets on the skok since its only about 2miles of fishable water. Prediction of 30,000+ Skokomish kings this year! Do you guys buy the hunterfarms key? If you do is it worth it? Maybe I will see you guys on the river this August.
I fished the skok almost every day last year and didnt buy the key. Now sometimes i wish i would have because it sucks carrying 40 pounds of fish back lol but im buying one this year to go camping

lol carrying 40lbs of fish sucks. once at the quilceneI got my limit within a hour all the way down the mile+ long trail until you have to cross consiting of 8lb, 14lb, 15lb, & 16lb silvers all chrome w/ sea lice and boy did we get a lot of eggs that day.
I believe the keys are $50 but we just walk in. I have hooked a couple large fish in the skok pushing 30lbs but all I can really land are the smaller fish like jacks and 10-12lbers even with 20lb test, they just head straight for the sticks. My best outing was 18 fish hooked one night and would have been more if my dad did not make me leave my spot. I had 5 on in a row at one point fishing a tail out.
Yeah ff, I got perfect attendance this year as a sophomore so I told my parents I am going to take hella "sick days" next year and hopefully I will get insurance on my car before than to get my drivers permit. Hit up the quil, cascade and skook a lot only problem is gas money. yikes...

hahaha me and my dad started to wearing back packs down to the quilcene becuase everytime we would go there we always got our 8 silvers and some of these fish can get pretty big, last year I caught a 20-21lb silver in there but you can only keep fish inside the mouth but this one either ran into my line or something but I hooked just outside the mouth on the lips so I released plus it was a native even though we can keep any orgin fish there. Those gamies over there look for any excuse to give you a ticket, huge crackdowns and undercovered gamewardens made it a ghost town a few years ago, but still my favorite place to fish for silver that is close by.
