Depression Lake is a drainage basin developed to regulate water levels of Baker Lake reservoir, the uppermost pool of the Puget Sound Energy Baker River Hydroelectric Project. There are several campgrounds in the area operated by the U.S. Forest Service and PSE. Stocked rainbow trout is the species of interest. Fishing is best in the deeper portions of the lake, especially as the waters warm. Anglers should use caution when fishing around the intake fore-bay sectioned off by the orange boom. The lake is 41.2 acres, and lies at an elevation of 700 feet. It is open year round.

There is no boat launch, meaning in order to use a boat, you must carry it to the waters edge. From Sedro Woolley, travel east on Highway 20 about 17 miles. Take a left on Baker Lake road, travel 14 miles, turn right on Baker Lake Dam road. Camp sites are located on a gravel road on the right hand side. Backside of lake is accessed further down the road, taking a left.
