Finally able to hit the river for the first time this winter season. Saw some familiar faces that report here often. About first light the guy below me hooked up on a jig. A few cast later a nice buck steelhead took my nightmare pattern jig. Fished from 6-11. Saw about 4 fish caught and 3 lost. Not red hot by any means, but it usually picks up the week of thanksgiving!

Spawn6578 asking exactly where someone fishes isn't the best way to ask for help about locations.

This was at reiter ponds. If youre going to post a fishing report share the spot you are fishing art. Reiter ponds is by far any secret. After all this site is about sharing information and helping each other out. @Spawn. When you get there you will have to wait till sunrise too ent the lot. The will be other cars there waiting on the shoulder. If you need help fishing the sky. There s a guide here named reelpriorities. Good luck

Yes it was at Reiter. @legendary. I've been threatened before for being to specific about my fishing locations. So I throw in details such as "started fishing at 6am" which for those who know is the time your aloud to enter Reiter ponds. I personally don't care since the sky isn't a secret and for the most part accessible to all who care to explore back roads and trails. The visibility was approx. 2 ft. @4steelhead.. I've got no problem helping others catch fish. I actually sent pictures of my set up to a guy who messaged me on Facebook. I've been stuck in the middle of the critics. Some get mad for sharing to much and others get mad when I don't share. I guess all I can say is be polite. Be willing to learn. Pick up on hints and work on them, and it doesn't hurt to ask.

@4Steelhead: I was on the Sky today and no fish to be found. Water flow is still a little high and fast. Water visibility was about 12 inches from Monroe to Sultan. Al Borlin Park is closed due to the high water. Water color was muddy/opaque. It was VERY cold out this morning (27F). Ice formed on my rod guides. Layer up if you plan on wading.

When I post a report, your lucky if I even tell you which river im fishing, let alone what spot im at. Instead ill tell you how to find your own spot and what to look for. Great report snoop, dont let them tell you how to post your report.

Thanks for the location info. @riverhunter what's wrong with asking about the location? I am new to salmon/steelhead fishing and want to learn the area that is why I am here reading the reports.

Reiter is no secret but let the writer of post say where they fished if he or she wants to not because we feel forced to. Just saying

And yes snoop teaching others is always a good thing and btw reel priorities is no longer guiding. @spawn nothing wrong with asking for help but like snoop said some ppl do get mad at disclosing locations. As for me I don't mind letting others know where I fish and usually say in my post but if don't add it I prefer a pm so not to get others mad at me if the locations isn't crowded just yet

Experienced anglers know if you publicly announce the exact location online, report chasers WILL follow. Some places like reiter are well known, the rif raf will be there regardless, and therefor is acceptable to post the location. The reason us experienced anglers are less likely to share our other favorite places is because, flossers, snaggers and noobs typically dont know how (or choose not to) fish correctly, which will spook the hole and ruin the fishing. Salmon and steelhead spook very easily. If some jackwad is ripping through the hole and whipping the run to a froth, your odds of catching drop dramatically. Some of us like to fish in solitude aswell. Its better to know how to find good water than to be told where good water is. Us reporters put time and effort into making these reports. The reporters have graciously shared their info for you, readers should be thankful for that and not demand for more. Snoop has contributed alot over the years, I believe it is well within his right to withhold any info he wishes.

Thanks for the report Snoop. I've stopped posting reports because someone always has something smart to say. It's really annoying I think these people should just not login or look at the reports.

Some very well worded responses everyone. I can't add much to the above discussion except to say thanks to those that are willing to share reports and whatever level of information they choose to provide. Your contributions are appreciated!
