This is for Gary who caught the large muskie on accident. The way to release a muskie without hurting them is to cut the hook with a small pair of bolt cutters (12" long) the chemicals in the mouth with either disolve the hook or it will fester out. Another thing to remember is to cradle the fish in a horizontal position to prevent strain on the internal organs and make sure you have a net big enough and to always net it head first. Its best to land the fish and release it quickly so that it has a better chance of survival. Thanks for practicing catch and release. I only wish more people would do that.
