I made it over for my annual 5 day camping/fishing trip to Quincy Lake. I read that it was frozen for the opener, so was hoping for ice off. I drove in Tuesday afternoon and was surprised at all the people fishing. I stopped and spoke with several and they said the ice went off completely on Monday. Fishing was very slow, but the fish caught were large.

Banked fished most of Wed-TH with marshmallow and chunk of nightcrawler and caught one 3 lber for my efforts. Big crowds fishing Friday-Sat. with very few catching anything. I spoke with a Fish and Wildlife agent that was checking fish and he had only checked a few fish in a couple hours. The majority of fish were carry overs, so there was a die off of last years plants or they had serious lock jaw. I fished Burke Lk on Friday and saw lots jumping and everyone was catching fish in the afternoon. I saw nothing jumping in Quincy what so ever. I'll have to keep an eye on fishing reports and see if it changes.
