The road posed the major problem getting to the Lake. Some of the ruts
on the reservation were tricky to navigate, but we made it. Fishing
was spotty but took some rainbows on nymphs, particularly dragonfly and
Hare's Ears. Some top water action with Adams drys in the evening.
Campground was nice. Since we were going to be there for several days,
we bought the annual reservation permit for $25. Be sure to stop at the
trailhead (hellroaringmeadows) just before the campground the view of
Mount Adams is spectacular. Another pretty view is on the way up to
Bench at a small pond called Mirror Lake.
