I took my Son out for a rest break from College on this day. I figured we had one last good trip on Rock this Spring and his wife wanted some fish for dinner.

The weather had turned sour compared to last week. There was rain early, strong wind around 1:00 PM, clear water, but the temperatures were back down to about 56 degrees.

The fish still followed the presentations back to the boat a lot, but we did manage to hook up. We took home 7 fish between the two of us, 6 Browns and 1 Rainbow. The smallest was 14-3/4" and the largest was 18-1/2". We each released about a dozen small rainbows, and a few small browns.

My belief is that the small fish are more active now and my big fish are simply eating fresh meat, not my little lure offerings. Oh well, we can't have big fish without the small ones. We did catch a couple of small bass, a few small crappie, and a few bluegill.

Note: There were a lot more boats on the water today. A few caught fish, mostly the small 8" and smaller trout. One boat claimed to have landed an 8 LB Brown, but released it. Perhaps, there are a lot of fish in this lake bigger than that, but his questions and comments left me thinking that a fish story was being told. Nevertheless, his claim of catching it at 30' with a downrigger and a small flatfish might interest you.
