As a local I hit this lake regularly with good success. Only fish the last 45 minutes of light on this lake as it is the most productive time. Sight casting to fish as they swirl at the surface in the flat out between the launch and the far shore. Use a casting bobber with 24" of extremely light leader (2 lb).... with a small worm on a sharp single hook. Watch for the swirl then cast in the direction the fish is headed (or in the proximity.... never inside the swirl ring). Wait until the bobbers rings dissipate then cast to next rise. Usually get a fish in first or second cast. Then I fire up the motor and move a little ways before cutting the throttle and drifting into place once again. My typical evening has me with a quick limit of 10" - 11" fish in about 25 minutes. Not bad for a lake most think as a poor trout prospect. Just waiting for the water to warm a touch so the crappie really turn on (I know they are biting just not how they do come the first 80 degree days).
