I wanted to catch some trout for the smoker. So I loaded up two of my daughters and headed to Bay Lake. We've become addicted to this lake, not for the quantity of fish we catch but the size of the fish we catch. We arrived around 11:00AM with the intent of catching our limit in trout. 5 Hours later we had zero fish in the boat. My daughters have a lot of patients. So do I but I was ready to go. Kenzie my 10 year old loves to bass fish. I have yet to see a bass come from this lake. We had a box of night crawlers and bobbers and got started. In that 6th hour we fished several spots. Kenzie didn't want to use worms she wanted to use some of my fancy stuff. This kid was making the most beautiful casts I've ever seen from a kid and most adults. She was getting her lure inches from the shoreline, in between branches and logs, and much more. Well is was tired and upset from "getting snunked". Then "WHAM" Kenzie got a bite on a Living Eye lure. At first, I thought she had a throw back because I saw a patch of seaweed on her line and figured the fish was behind it. Then 5 feet behind the patch of seaweed a small human sized largemouth bass took flight. We were in a 8 foot boat, but I found myself moving in there like it was a yatch. After a 10 minute fight Kenzie landed a 221/2 INCH - 6 POUND Largemouth Bass. She had 15 minutes of fame at the boat launch.
