Got out to Fish Lake today around 1:00pm. It was about 80 degrees and mostly sunny with a breeze out of the southwest. Water temp was a steady 68 degrees.

The calm, sunny conditions made it a little more difficult than usual with it taking a while to find the fish with the fish finder. After some searching I began to get bites at about 25' in the East side of the lake in about 40' of water. The fish finder was showing quite a few fish sitting at 22 to 28 feet below the surface.

I caught and released 9 tiger trout (no brookies today!) in about 2 hours on Olive Willies, black wooly buggers and a damsel pattern. There was no surface action or observed hatches. Size ranged from 9 to 14".

All in all for such a calm and bright day it was better than I expected.

Tight lines!!

I have noticed that finding them is difficult also. I wonder sometimes on bright days if they aren't laying in the shade under the lily pads. There is a lot of fish in that lake and sometimes you can cruise all over the lake and only mark a couple of fish. They must be somewhere.
