You are on the right track. Just try to keep them in the water except for a short pix.
Injury is higher if they are floppin' around in the bottom of a boat (to them AND you!!)
Big net and protective gloves really help, too.
But you ain't no rookie any more! Congats on a nice fish!

Thanks for the comments. No doubt a good idea to keep them in the water. Was fishing by myself and the best way to get a picture seemed to be a gentle removal from the net, the fish stayed still on the deck and allowed me the release without any thrashing. Just got the linde protective gloves, Ya the addiction is just like the steelhead jones. Just keeps getting more intense every time I see a new picture on this site, Nothing better than a good tussle and a successful release. This fishery is such a great opportunity to cnr a trophy fish right in our backyard I sure don't want to injure any fish. Thanks again
