I got to Fish Lake around 4pm and headed to the dock, it was rather warm out and I was the only one at the dock. I started with a bobber and hook but got rid of the hook soon after. I got a few bites and caught a couple of small sunfish around 4-5". I tried to use my powerbait at the end of the dock, weighted so it would go to the lake bed but there were so many small fish that as soon as I threw it in, the had gotten all of the bait. I switched to the Berkly mini worms by the sunken tree by the side of the dock but nothin down there liked it. Left about 7pm. Need to figure out how to get my cheap rod to cast more than 10 feet out. Didn't know about the 2 dollar fee to get in before 6pm and didn't have any money, the lady at the window was nice and let me in anyway. Another day another lake.

yeah if you arrive before like 11am you wont get charged either since nobody is at the window. Supposedly the park is closed from dusk to dawn but the road to the boat launch isnt gated, at least as far as I could tell.

lighter line helps me cast further out. when i fish for trout i go as light as 4 lb test, sometimes 6lb, but the 4 seems to work good for me; just got to be careful not to crank too hard when you hook one! hope this helps.
