Went out to Lacamas this morning to check out the water levels and play a little. I tried drop-shot worms from the shore and caught four small bass which either followed from deeper water or ambushed from shore. They all hit within three feet of the bank. Tied on a Baby Bass Rat-L-Trap and caught two more dinks.

Met up with an older gentleman at the dock and went back to throwing plastics. Had a decent hook-up that quickly wrapped my line around a root ball forcing me to break-off. Spent the next couple hours panfishing and visiting with the old guy I met and we caught and released a bunch of perch. Some would have filleted out nice, but most were too small. The other guy caught a nice crappie, but it was a one hit wonder as we could not find the school. Using a white curl tail crappie jig, I caught 8 fish in 8 casts. It was hilarious.

Just a nice relaxing morning of fishing. Will probably be back in a few days with the jonboat, camera, and GPS to do some mapping for next spring and maybe a little fishing, too.

Me, my cousin Lyndon and maybe even Fisherman_max are gonna fish by the Boat launch that you just fished at. Were all gonna try jigs for bass. Since the lake is down, we might walk down a ways toward the island and fish the pebbles and rocks. If you decide not to Fish in the boat, we would enjoy the extra company. We might hit the laske around 7ish or so Friday Morning. If you have any questions or want to talk. my email is [email protected]! Good job oh catching those bass.
Even though they were small. Lacamas is a hard lake, most ppl get lucky to catch 1, so dont feel like the day was a waste. Keep up the good work!

I was looking for fun not big bass yesterday. I knew the larger respectable bass were out of reach so I just took a shot at those I could reach. I am really looking forward to seeing the rest of the lake by boat and seeing what draws the bass to the locations I have had success and maybe finding their migration routes to those spots. What an opportunity.

BBD, wish I could do that to the bass. Maybe one day...and probably only one day per lifetime. I was laughing so hard that I was amazed the last two latched on. Was ready to break the pole in half when I missed number 9. LOL

8 fish in 8 casts, sounds familiar until about two weeks ago, it got quiet quick. the water raised about 3ft. last week when it rained, the perch, bluegill, crappie bite around the boat dock disappeared...
