Hit the water as soon as it was light enough to rig my gear. Trolled out of the north cove down the east side towards sunset beach and curved around once I passed Davies Beach on the other side to go troll around the aerator. When I first got on the water, it was peaceful, barely any wind and no rain. As I trolled out, the rain came and just kept getting worse. As I rounded the aerator, the wind really kicked up, and of course, it was coming from the direction I needed to travel so I had to pull up my gear as I was worried with that much wind I'd end up rowing back after the battery died. I tried various pop-gear, wedding rings and flatfish all tipped with the good stuff and nuttin. I did end up having enough juice to get back no worries, but it was pretty nasty and the boat had taken an easy couple gallons of rain water in the mean time. I talked with another fella who was out there doing his thing too and he did better than I with four fish, one an eighteen inch Cutt, all fish caught on sinking fly-line with wooly-buggers. Guy even gave me a couple to try for myself, good man. I can't wait to get out and try them for myself. I really was hoping to get into some of the big planted trips, but the darn things were unavailable for comment, hahahaha. All in all, it was a very windy, wet and cold morning out on the water. It sure beats the heck outta watchin it on TV; I just hope I can get out again here soon, I'm in the process of moving so I haven't even been out in the last five or six days and I just had to get my fix! Hope it's not another six before I go again; that's for sure! See you on the water, I'll be in my boat, the Marcy T. And if the fella who gave me the wooly-buggers is readin this, thanks!!
