Omak was a bit slow last weekend. Too cold, 39 degree water. It is warming slowly, 42 degrees this weekend. The cutthroat are waking up. We took them off the shore stripping olive wooly buggers and took some on chironomids (brassies, size 18-20). The fish seemed a bit more active than last week, but still a ways to go! The fish were nice, but not huge (14-20+ inches in our party). Omak is big, very few others fishing it though. A bit desolate out there, you can see anyone else around for a long ways. Bring binoculars.
