3/13/2008 12:35:00 PMIm not too familiar with the lake but last june we were nailing the crappie in the canal part of the lake under a bridge. I know there is like 4 miles of canals so there is probally more than 1 bridge, wish I could be of more help.

There are 4 bridges that cross the lake. You were probably on the canal that connects the two lakes. The crappie fishing is getting better the last couple of years. It was almost fished out about 8 years ago.

3/13/2008 10:10:00 PMI didnt think of that but the canals will probally be a little warmer. One of my buddys has a house on the canal and he said 2 years ago they dredged the canal and took out all the weeds, and the fishing has been pretty good ever since. He also said that there isnt too many trout in the canal but if you put in the time you will be rewarded with a lunker trout. We also caught some HUGE perch, I would say the average size was 12" or so. Also some decent LMB, no bluegill though. From what I rember you take a left when you leave the grocery store and go a mile or 2 and thats the bridge we were under. The bigger the jig, the bigger the crappie and a plain jig worked better than a jig baited with a worm or perch meat. White curley tail and a 1/16 oz black jig head. Floating rapala worked for bass, perch and crappie
