On Thursday we fished lower Hampton from 1pm - 4pm. My buddy caught 2 fish, and I got skunked. Both the fish were pretty nice size, 1.5lbs and 1.75lbs. Both were caught on a bubble gum power egg and sherbet power bait. The fish were real deep, we were using about 18" of leader.

On Saturday we hiked into upper Hampton and fish it from 1pm - 3:30pm. Everybody we talked to wasn't having any luck, but the boats we saw had some fish on the stringer. The place was packed all weekend, but we didn't even get a bite.

On Sunday we fished lower Hampton again, from 10am - 12:30pm. I caught a 1.75lb trout within 30 seconds of of my first cast on a single bubblegum power egg and 2' of leader. We didn't get another bite after that.

Thanks for the report. I was going to head that way for the April 1st opener and glad I stayed up north on Rufus. There was a large fish kill in Upper Hampton last winter and I'm wondering if that happened again? F&W must have dumped in a load of catchables mid summer last year. I c&r from my kayak about 50 fish last Sept. There should be a mess of nice fish in the upper lake now if they didn't die off.
