Today we made our yearly trek out to Fishtrap Lake. Having had some great opening day moments at this lake , we once again came out with visions of 5lb rainbows striking our lines time and time again. Instead what we found this year was lake full of trout not worthy of making their way on to our stringers. Pulling in 7 and 8 inch trout doesn't generate a whole lot of excitement between the two of us. We did manage to haul in one triploid but it was the only keeper that we caught on this day. All in all we caught and released 25 fish between the two of us. We packed it in early and decided to head down to Badger in search of the elusive lunker bows. One thing became very clear today , the 2008 opener on Fishtrap would go down as a huge disappointment for these avid anglers.
