My husband and I showed up about 9am and fished until 2:30pm. When we first got there, some guys were on the shore fishing and had only been there 20 minutes. They had brought in 6 fish between the two of them in that 20 minutes. They were only planters, but they had fun fishing. We tried trolling, but that never works on that lake. Most people, including us, fish on the outer edges of the lake into the lilly pads for trout. That is where all the trout go and hide. Doesn't make much sense to me, but that is how it works. Water temp was 54, so I am guessing that is why they are there. But in the dead middle of summer, the trout will be in the lilly pads. Everyone was catching fish, but ME!!! Go figure. I saw many triploids brought in. My husband got one. It was 1.5 lbs. It will make a nice little snack. And small planters were everywhere and on everyone's line, but mine of course! We seemed, well I guess just him, to have more luck using a bobber with a worm. They didn't seem interested in trout bait, and we couldn't get any bites from the bottom. Good luck!
