I did my day after the opener thing at Wilderness and did ok. Limited out, but the highlight was seeing a HUGE BASS! I mean no less than 2ft long and FAT. Biggest bass I've ever seen in my life. That was it for me, I spent the greater part of the day trying to land a bass.

How come I never see bass reports for this lake? Is it a secret? Sorry if it's someone's secret bass lake, but I'd like to see some more reports from this lake on bass. I seem to have no idea what I'm doing because I've never landed one on purpose. So please, all you bass guys....get over there and pull that 10 lb hawg out of there, show me how it's done!

really the bass fishing in wilderness is terrible, that was probably the only one, Beaver Lake is where the real bass are.

Don't trust all the lake index info. Example,.. Fivemile lake has smallies but no one really knows that. I know its true,I've caught 2 of them. Theres many other lakes that are the same. Some people may be using a degree in bucket biology.

I agree with "patfitting" the bass fishing in Wilderness is lousy. I would not waste my time.

How come it's so lousy? is it the fish? Because I can tell you this, it's not for lack of bass or size. Last year I fished this lake once a week for trout and I always marked what had to be bass sitting above the numorous underwater structures, plus I've seen them, big big ones. Maybe now I have a new fishing goal.........hmmmm

The bass fshing is terrible at Wilderness because of all the food in the water (10,000 stockers)
I have seen BIG bass go after my little trout that I released. I mean a school of about 7 to 10 B IG Bass under the boat waiting for the trout.
I have seen HUDGE bass in most of the lakes.....Desire, Spring, Shadow , even Peterson Pond.
I have a 12lb fbass on the wall from CA, and I swear I have seen bigger ones feeding on the trout.
They come up after my trout, and wont bite anything else.
I bet October is a good time to try with something like T rigging a rainbow senko.......................but then its Salmon season.
