my fishing partner mike (aka "crablegs")and i hit American at 630am ,there were 5 boat trailers in the lot no one launching but us.we launched in mikes 18 foot Olympic and headed to the main island.our gear of choice were dodger and single maggot and dodger and wedding ring spinner.we put them down on the riggers at 25ft trolling 1 to 1.5 mph, water temp was 60.1 on the lowrance.we were headed to 70 ft of water .about 5 minutes into it mike gets a kokanee on ,he is using the dodger and wedding ring .then i get two on the dodger and single maggot in the next 15 minutes .we made it to the east side of the main island and found our 65 to 75 ft of water and put our dodgers down to 65ft.we were rewarded with a pair of 14 inchers .we didn't get a hot bite until 11:30 am .we put back a few kokanee in the 11 to 12 inch range and one rainbow in the 8 inch range .the weather was bad but the dark clouds kept the bite on .there were fish on the surface all the time we were trolling .we seen lots of eagles and a few auspreys.we ended up with our limits all fish were 12-14 inches and were a blast to catch .the main thing to remember is to keep consistent about the gear and the depth your in because it goes in spurts and if your up and down changing gear when you don't need to you are wasting time .the pic shows the setup we used but the leader was long enough but short enough to work with the dodger.all in all a very good day for my first kokanee trip.

how many inches behind the dodger did you put the wedding ring?

about 8 inches, just enough to move when the action on the dodger dictates the movement .
