We got to the lake at 2 pm. There was a pretty good wind blowing from the southwest. The air temp was 58 degrees.
Partly cloudy with a few sunbreaks.
The water temp is back up to 63-64 degrees.
We tried trolling a brass and red needlefish, silver and red needlefish and a rainbow needlefish. Not even a bite.
We saw a lot of fish on the fish finder mostly suspended about 3-4 feet off the bottom in 17 - 20 feet of water.
My partner caught 1 small Crappie on a chartreuse and red jig under a dock. Only had a couple of other bites.
Talked to people in other boats and they all said it was slow.
We need some warmer weather.

Duck just had a massive weedkill. It actually killed all invasive and native species of weeds. I know that the bass are very stressed. We had a tournament about 2 weeks ago and the fishing was poor. It will take awhile before this lake rebounds. Killing that many weeds lowers the oxygen count alot.

That is the third weedkill in two years. 2 last year and again towards the end of April this year. I t sure makes the fishing different with out the weeds.

I don't mind killing some weeds but they killed everything including the pads. That's over the top if you ask me. Nothing was wrong with this lake to begin with.

Some of the locals that live on the lake have been complaining about the weeds. So they started a weed kill program. It sure has changed the fishing this year. Im gonna be up there to fish the 4th of July. A couple of my spots that produce alot of crappie and perch have'nt been productive at all this year. The weather has also been cooler this year. That also is contributing to the problem.

I noticed last year after they killed the weeds that the fish didn't hang close to the banks like they usually do. I would find them suspending over deeper water away from the shore. This year all the fish I have seen on the fishfinder have been suspending 3-4 feet off the bottom in 17-20 feet of water. I think that is due to the cold weather

I greq up fishing Duck and know alot of locals. It was just a couple people that complained. When we were at our tournament we talked to a landowner on the grand canal and he said he was so upset he was considering selling his property, Yes the weather is cooler this year however our club should have caught ALOT more fish.
