Hit the lake around 11am. Weather was overcast, but the lake was calm. A couple of boats on the water...BigBrown69 was already on the water. Trolled for a couple hours up and down the lake. Started trolling deep with plugs, then switched to flatfish with no luck on either. Wanted to hook something, so started throwing most everything in the tackle box at them at various depths. No luck. Tried most everything but a wedding ring and bait. Only saw one caught while I was out there....and I quit at 12:30 without so much as a hit. Weather was great, so at least it was relaxing. Tight lines.

Don't feel bad. I spent 8 hours on that lake a few days ago only to get 2 fish. water is way to hot for trout right now. I did see fish break water around 9:30 at night, but they were just feeding on the huge amount of uneaten insects that had fallen into the water.

Ya it was pretty slow that day bent rod. I only caught a few small ones. Now today (sun) was a different story though. Water is back down to 66 from 70 on fri. and they are starting to come alive again !

The sun does seem to make a difference doesn't it. Yeah, there are going to be days like Saturday. Not upset about it...what is the saying?..."All you're guaranteed is a boat ride...catching something is a bonus." I'd rather be sitting on the lake than sitting at my desk. :) Thanks for the words of encouragement.

Ya another one is....."thats why they call it fishing, not catching". It's gonna happen sometimes but like you said its nice to get out on the water on a nice day
