7/13/2008 10:08:00 PMI have always had the same experience. Only smaller fish there. I heard a theory that if there are lotts of smaller fish in the lake it is because there are too many of them, and if you keep some of them you will actually be helping the general population. Enybody else ever heard of this or agree?

7/14/2008 8:28:00 AMI grew up fishing this lake there was a time when we could go out and catch 5 to 10 bass all 3+. Over the last three or four years I have seen several people taking ice chests full of 2 and 3 pounders out of the lake. There are still some big ones in there but they are few and far between now. It just amazes me how fast some people can destroy a lake. Sounds like you still had a good day anyway. Yeah and taking a few small fish helps if there are big ones in the lake but if there are only small ones it really isnt going to do much.

7/14/2008 9:31:00 AMWow Keith thanks for that it helps me understand a little better. I thought bass fishing had gotten to a point where we understood the importance of C&R. If you want to have a meal keep a few dinks. Let the big breeders go. You will only help yourself.

7/14/2008 9:09:00 PMI personally don't keep any but if you are going to keep them the small ones are the ones to keep. The big ones are where all of the eggs come from. They are the ones that will be producing the future of this sport if they are not harvested.
