Went fishing at Wilderness for Bass...didn't have any luck. My buddy and I had a couple of chasers, but no takers. We have just started Bass fishing and we are finding out that this is actually hunting for bass...its a lot different then Trout fishing. Before we left the lake we wanted to leave with a little confidence so we trout fished...and caught a few, pretty big in size! BUT OH MY GOSH how gross looking were they. ALL covered in parasites...little white what looks to be maggots hanging off their bodies. It was disgusting...Does anyone know how/why/ what is the cause? Also, if you have any Bass fishing tips, those would be greatly appreciated too!

i stopped fishing that lake for trout a few years ago because they had big sores on them about an inch in diameter i think those are from stress so what you see might just be a progression of those same sores i havent bass fished on that lake though if it is clear still try light line and small lures

I know wilderness had a really bad leach problem a while back. Not sure if that is part of the trout problem but it just seems like the lake is all messed up.

- pick a bassy looking spot and fish it thoroughly
- Stay slow and perfect your technique. Bass will bite if the presentation is right.
- try spotting the fish and toss a weightless senko right in front of them
- as matt said, "keep up the practice" the pros are stackin chips because its hard work. Not everyone has the patience for bass thats why God created trout.
