Seems like the rest of the folks here on the site have been posting some good reports for the smallies, figured I'd go make a report myself....Didn't even have plans to fish tonight, shortly after dinner I realized I had nothing to do, took off around 8pm, was fishing by 8:20pm...

Had two rods strung up, 6' UL to toss a 1/8 (maybe 1/4) oz chartreuse/blue spinnerbait and a 6'6" medium action rod, tied a jig on it (pumkin color, used an old twin tailed grub, smoke color, for the trailer)...Don't fish jigs much, but I have been getting PM's from a buddy who's been saying he's been seeing a lot of big fish follow his presentations up next to a concrete bulkhead that I usually don't fish...Well, jigs are known for big fish, figured I'd try one one tonight up next to the wall.

Worked some shore with the spinnerbait for 15 minutes, the skunk got out quick with a small 10 incher, nothing much, but on an UL tossing small spinnerbaits its still pretty fun.

Shortly afterwards, started working the concrete bulkhead with the jig. It drops straight off to about 10-15 feet, so I tossed the jig around it for 10-15 minutes with NOTHING to show. Kinda bummed out, I figured I'd give it a little more time. Went and fished the other side of it, casting along it, and was definitely not paying much attention after the lull in action. Went to twitch the jig, but it was slack and I didn't feel my jig when I twitched it.... Huh? Reeled in a bit, right before it got tight, I felt a little twitch, which meant the green light to set the hook! Fish on, it was a nice one too...Got it to the shore, lipped it, and it was a real nice smallie, thankfully. Weight? I don't know. 3lbs ish? Got some pictures, released it unharmed...Pictures are attached, its pictured next to a Vitamin Water, which is about the size of a gatorade bottle. Needa bring a tape measurer and get length/girth marks....

The bulkhead was pretty well worked, went on and started tossing the spinnerbait over some rocky structure...Landed two more, about a lb a piece, not big, but again, still fun on a 6' UL on light gear....

Was done about exactly an hour after I started. 4 fish in an hour (8:20 to 9:20pm) sure isn't something to complain about...
