Took a couple hours in the afternoon to relax. The day was nice and there were quite a few people on the water. some fishing, some just having fun. Tried our hands at bass fishing the north side of the lake and the upper lake. Got a few strikes on white and also chartreuse grubs. My BIL caught his first largemouth...about 10 inches on a chartreuse. Lots of small ones would follow the gear to the boat. Tried some topwater with a silver and green popper. Got one strike, but didn't stick. Lots of bass jumping in the lilly pads. Got us excited, but they weren't interested in what we were showing them. The LM that was pulled in had a craw full of black flies which were littered all over the surface of the water.
Nice time, but not much action. It was relaxing and not long enough. Started just before 4:30 and quit about 6.
