Try crankbaits now. Got the same thing going on here on the west side. No frost though. Try fishing about 20ft or so out from the pads. They'll hit. New boat? Congrats! Good luck this fall.

ugorico: If you've got a depth finder troll a crankbait that will run 8 - 10 feet deep in water that is 15 - 20 feet deep. I used to just troll a zig-zag pattern with my lure way out there (one long cast and a little extra). The largest deep diving husky jerk always caught fish for me, rainbow, perch and gold/black colors. I trolled them on 50 lb power pro because it's small diameter doesn't keep these smallish lures from diving deep. When it starts getting colder I switch too florocarbon to prevent some of the freezing problems the braided line has. And I used to make frequent speed changes until the fish told me what the pattern was for the day.

Thanks for all the help muskyhunter and muskie guy! I went out last night and tried a rapalla bleeding hot olive in about 18-20 foot depths right off some of the remaining pads and hit a nice largemouth on the second cast! The fish finder didn't even show that anything was down there! Looks like I will be picking up some more crankbaits this friday on the way home from work. I still need to work on technique but I think I am off to a good start.
