Took a trip out to Amber lake this morning to check out the fishing. I have never been there and from what Ive read its usually pretty good. I got in my float tube around 10 am, starting out trolling with a black and olive wooly bugger on the west side of the lake heading towards the rock slide (which from what Ive heard is a hot spot). The fish were pretty consistent which is why i didn't bother switching flies. over the course of about three hours I landed 3 bows that were pretty nice but nothing over 14". I also managed to miss quite a few that came intermittently, i don't think I at any time went more than 25-30 min without a strike. There was probably 5-7 different boats/tubes on the water and it looked to me like everyone was doing pretty good, A couple of gents in a boat probably caught 20+ bows/cutts within the time I was there alone. Overall I would say I had a great day of fishing. It was beautiful out and not too windy. I am looking for some good places around the county to creek fish, if anyone knows of any please let me know!
