Went out for about 2 hours during the morning. Caught a small rainbow trout within the first 5 min. On my silver flatfish. After that not another bite. Then went home when it started to rain. Caught him right after the weeds stopped by the boat launch.

Nice work yooperman. I wasted a completely good morning on Kitsap lake not long ago. trolled, baited, everything in my tackle box at different depths and speeds and didnt get a single bit of action. I have heard of big fish in Kitsap lake... but never seen them.

I have fished kitsap alot and love this lake! I have my best luck with a black wooleybugger 75' to 100' feet back and rowing then stopping (just a couple of stokes at a time) over and over. This makes the fly rise and fall. Sometimes orange power eggs about 3' off bottom. The west side has been most productive for me although last couple of times the south end close to the lilly pads did me best. If your trolling try a wedding ring tipped with a bit of worm or flat fish #3 or #4. Florecent orange, black w/speckle, green, gold... have all caught me fish there. There are good sized fish there, Last spring early summer I was catching 2lb to 2.5lb pretty regular. Stopped fishing for trout when salmon season started! Almost filled my first card and ready to start my second!!!
