Started our Turkey Day fishing at Bradley, had intended to hit Fivemile but due to time I decided to save 5 minutes of drive time. Started targeting perch off the dock using Gulp maggots(the little ones) We only could hook a couple a little buggers.
Saw many other anglers out there catching a ton of trout so we decided to target them instead. Using the green powerbait, it was only moments until we got our first rainbow(around 13 inches) few minutes later and the 2nd hooked a little bigger. Anyone who was fishing the bottom was catching fish, bobbers not working so well.
I haven't checked the WDFW website yet but word around the lake was it was just stocked.

Weather was cold, overcast with light showers and a slight breeze.

I have my doubts but I have heard of people catching smallmouth in here, I have fished this lake for years, has anyone else heard this claim? I know theirs lmb's, but they are tough to catch, at least for me LOL

Thanks for the report, Kevin. I agree with you that there are LMB in there but to hear smallies are in there is a pleasant surprise. Cool! When are we going to go fishing? My ankle is heeled enough to fish. :)

islandbass,I've been wondering where you've been. I'll pm about fishing.
As for Bradley,I'm not 100% sure that there are smallies here,I've met a few folks that state they have caught them. But I havn't hooked or seen any pics of them in there. I hope its true,I love the smallie bite. I'm not a biologist..but this lake is so small that if smallmouth bass were present,I'd have to belive it is a very small population considering the size of the body of water and the other competing species.

Their are still lmb present but I think they're are a few anglers taking them out.

were these actual bass fishers? trent told me that some people think smaller lmb are smallmouths because thye dont yet have the bucket mouth feature. i had the same thing said about a lake i fish and havent once gotten a nudge from a smallie. nor has anyone else that fishes there

Good call RB,thats what I'm thinking but one guy was convinced it was a smallie,...I'm not in the position to call him a liar but he didn't seem to be the brightest light in the room. If any are here...they were dumped in. Maybe I'll start some rumors of sturgeon here, that would be fun lol

Why stop at surgeon. I swear I seen some 40lb silvers running thru there. They got off of 167 and got right onto meridian
