Went out to Hog Lake this morning. Half was froze over. Temp was around 28 + wind. = COLD. Fished from 9:30 to about 12noon. Caught 4 fish. Used a worm and a marshmallow. Most were between 9-11". One keeper of 12". Funny thing, 2 fish I caught, including the keeper, had humps on their back behind their heads. The big one was fat too. I hadn't seen that before in 'Bows. Has anyone else seen this?

That's a weird looking fish, never seen anything like that. But then periodicly on this site you seen some anomalies. There was some weird rainbow I think from Rufus last week that had a strange forked tail fin.

Must be a triploid, the bodies grow faster than the head. Looks like its feeding well!

I have seen this before, and It could be, or at least I was told it was a long time ago, that there is a virus that causes some deformation of the skeleton just like that. That could explain catching two fish from Hog Canyon that had this.

I am aware of no Triploids planted in Hog Canyon, so I doubt that is it.

When you cleaned out the fish, did you fillet it? If so, was the skeleton normal, or funky?

When I cleaned the fish, the flesh and skeleton seemed to be normal. I haven't de-boned it yet and I'm not sure if it's safe to eat or not.
