This was one of those days. We left the Mill Bay launch at 7:30. We were pulling a t-4 purple glow flatfish within 5 feet of the bottom on one side and a Rushin' Wobbler by Critter gitter in Green Mackeral on the other side by 8. By 8:30 we were high five'n because of an 11.5 pound laker. By Noon we had 9 fish. The biggest was 19 7/8. A 39" fish. The next biggest was 16.5. We had 2 that were 11.5. For non-migratory fish, in the winter, in the inland northwest, it just doesn't get much better. We pulled the Critter Gitter and Flatfish within 10 feet of the bottom in depths from 200' to 365' feet deep at 1.3 to 1.6 mph. The weather was in the 30's with no wind. The best fishing seems to be before 1PM. We saw the Lady Express and the barge go uplake. That was it. The day before we cruised up and down the lake to photograph Mountain goats. We saw about 25. I feel very fortunate to be here.
