Got to the lake and started fishing with spoons with no bites and people to both sides were consistently reeling them in. They were using bait so we went back to Quincy and got some hooks sinkers and bait. We went back to the lake and had our limits of 11-13" trout in less than an hour.

I fished upper Caliche on the 5th of March. I fished for an hour or so in the afternoon and caught my limit of healthy, but slender Bow's to the left of the boat launch ,using Rainbow glitter Turbo power bait. I set up my slipsinker rig with a 3 lb leader,24' long and a #16 treble hook. The wind was blowing from the west, and the fish hit light. All of my fish were lip hooked. An Old geezer drifting a crawler 3 ft. under a slip float got two fish. Later on while checking out the action at Burke Lake's west end, an old guy named Jim caught a very fat 19" Bow off the Public access dock with 3 white mallows and a 1/2 crawler. Three other guys using bobbers were fishing up in the shallow slough to the west, and they were catching some nice fish on worms. The day ended up beautiful and warm, for a while anyway. I finished the day by taking a dozen or so 8 to 9" perch up at the Rd. 5 canal on Winchester wasteway by drifting a 1/32 oz jig head and worm. All of my fish were caght within 30 feet of the south side of the bridge. The Jigmiester
