We thought today was gonna be tough. Clear skies, strong, cold wind out of the north. We went to the same spot as saturday and didn't have any luck. We then went 300 hundred yards north to the end of the lake and the fishing was hot. The northern shore of the lake was sheltered from the wind and the water temp was 50 degrees. I was drop shotting a tube in 20 feet of water and my uncle was using a jig. We caught over 70 crappie between us and keep 10 keepers. If you drifted out into the wind the water temp dropped to 45 degrees. A great day of fishing. I'm looking forward to coming back next month when the temp warms up a little more.

Maddograby. I love this time of year for early season Crappie. Dropshotting tubes is an extremely effective method for taking deep crappie. Last thursday, a couple bro's and I caught almost 100 crappies out of a Pond along the I-82 ponds south of Yakima. What was your best color? We scored on olive green w/ red and black flake and smoke with silver flake on 1/32nd oz jigheads. Anyway, nice report:; in spring finding yhe right water temp is key! Good luck. The Jigmiester

I caught all of them on a blue and white Bass Pro Shops Blood Squirt Tube. It was the first time I tried drop shotting and I must say I loved it. The action it gave the tube was incredible. I used an 1/8th oz drop shot. I had the tube about 12 inches above the shot. I dropped it to the bottom then reeled up a couple turns and fished the drop shot about a foot off the bottom. Thanks for the comments and Good Luck to you too. Maddograby
